How to Interpret Your AI Detection Result
Your AI probability score is a guideline — it helps you understand whether your text may need revision before submission. AI detection tools provide probability estimates, not definitive proof of authorship. Policies regarding AI use vary depending on your school, college, university, or other educational institution. We recommend reviewing your institution’s academic integrity policy to understand their specific requirements. If you’re unsure, it’s best to:- Review your institution’s AI usage guidelines
- Check assignment-specific requirements
- Ask your teacher, supervisor, or instructor for clarification
- Revise flagged sections if necessary
| AI Probability | What It Means | Is It a Concern? | What To Do |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0–20% | Very low likelihood of AI-generated patterns. | Usually not a concern | No action needed. Review normally before submission. |
| 21–50% | Some AI-like characteristics detected. | Low to moderate concern (depends on institution) | Review highlighted sections and ensure the writing reflects your own reasoning and voice. |
| 51–80% | Strong AI-like patterns detected. | Moderate to high concern | Carefully review flagged sections. Clarify arguments, ensure originality, and align with institutional policies. |
| 81–100% | Very high likelihood of AI-generated structure and patterns. | High concern | Substantial review recommended before submission. Verify compliance with your institution’s AI usage rules. |
Important Notes
- AI detection tools provide probability estimates, not proof of authorship.
- A high percentage does not automatically mean misconduct.
- False positives may occur, especially in highly structured academic writing.
- Acceptable thresholds vary depending on your school, college, or university.
